VAT Zero-Rated/VAT-free Shopping Day

The Cabinet has declared a VAT Zero-Rated/VAT-free Day for purchases of eligible goods by non-commercial customers, where the rate of VAT applicable to eligible goods will be 0%. Requirements include: supply by a VAT registrant, purchaser classified as a non-commercial consumer, supply of strictly eligible goods (school supplies like pens, pencils, geometry sets, school bags, school shoes, school uniforms, art supplies; and groceries like fresh foods, frozen foods, snacks, canned and packaged foods), eligible goods in stock preceding the day, and eligible goods issued to the purchaser on this day. Goods purchased on hire purchase are excluded. All eligible goods must be paid for in full on this day.
